Music

Music is such an important part of movies, and the real test is if you can listen to a score and be transported right back to the moment! This is a look at my favourite composers and artists who create the beautiful music which helps bring the movies to life...
Angels and Demons is a lovely soundtrack by Hans Zimmer. It combines classical orchestral and classic choir and church music. Like its predecessor The Da Vinci Code it keeps the theme from that movie as once again Professor Robert Langdon attempts to solve church mysteries.

The whole album is amazing, but the stand alone reason to have this in a collection is the standout track "Science And Religion". This is without doubt one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever come across; and is probably my favourite piece composed by Hans Zimmer so far!!

I'm so glad to have this soundtrack in my collection and it makes me watch the movie often which is an added bonus. Beautiful, spiritual and magical music! ~~Nikki~~
Gladiator was probably the first movie soundtrack that I couldn't stop listening to and it's still a favourite.

My standout tracks are "The Battle", "Am I Not Merciful?" and "Now We Are Free".

Hans Zimmer has created a haunting score that brings Ancient Rome back beautifully. ~~Nikki~~

Inception is an amazing soundtrack which fits the movie perfectly.  This album is filled with sweeping violins, cellos and horns. Hans Zimmer has created a mixture of hauntingly quiet and intensely energetic tracks.

My standout tracks are "Dream Is Collapsing" and "528491".

This score is dream-like perfection. ~~Nikki~~
The Lord of The Rings Trilogy was one of cinema's biggest movie achievements. The music Howard Shore composed to accompany these films is collectively some of the best loved classical music ever created.
Standout tracks on The Fellowship of the Ring are "The Prophecy", "Many Meetings" & "The Great River"

Each movie has it's own themes relating to the various characters & uses a vast collection of instruments to give a full and rich sound to each movie.

These soundtracks definitely took over my life more than any other whilst the movies were being released & they bring back all the memories of waiting for each one; which made for a great cinematic christmas event each time.

Standout tracks on The Two Towers are "Foundations Of Stone", "The White Rider", "The Leave Taking", "The Forbidden Pool" & "The Hornburg".

These & the extended Lord of the Rings soundtracks make up a beautiful score that echoes the magical feel of Middle Earth whenever they are played.

Standout tracks on The Return of the King are "A Storm Is Coming", "The White Tree", "Twilight And Shadow", "Shelob's Lair" & "The End Of All Things".

I personally believe this music will stand the test of time & remain a much loved collection alongside one of the best movie trilogies in recent history. ~~Nikki~~
